Arch+Art Summer course (managed by the Architecture Study Programme, Universitas Gadjah Mada) is intended to support the ability of students, which focuses on enriching participant’s architectural vocabularies associated with aesthetics, art, and function. Aesthetics and function are important aspects in architecture. To enrich these two aspects, collaboration with other field that has the same basic knowledge is crucial. In the process of creating/ designing a work, the field of architecture is very closely related to art and culture. Therefore in 2017, summer course will have a theme related to art and culture. Art and culture is an instrumental to stimulate the emergence of the ideas in the designing process.
Time and Place
Arch+Art Summer Course will be held for 10 days on August 2017 (2 – 12 August 2017) in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Main activities will be conducted in the field within Yogyakarta area, and other activities at the Department of Architecture and Planning, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The programs will include several excursion, art workshop and architectural as well as meeting notable artists in various place around Yogyakarta area.
