The Architects
Eko Agus Prawoto, M.Arch, IAI.
As an architect, Eko Agus Prawoto has a huge interest in collaborating the beauty of art and architecture together. In 1999, he held an architecture exhibition called ‘Cities on The Move’ in several cities from around the world such as London, Wina, and Helsinski. Also in 2002, he organized the same event in Guang Zhou, China. In 2003, he received an award from IAI (Indonesian Institute of Architects) for his outstanding works.
Eko Agus Prawoto also specializes in ‘Eco Design’. His work has a very distinctive style, which he mainly uses natural materials (from wood, bamboo, to recycled materials) as structures and building ornaments.
Dr. Ing Ir. E. Pradipto
Engeunius Pradipto, a lecturer and researcher at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) Yogyakarta, is known as a bamboo structure specialist. Since 1986, he promoted environment-oriented buildings in Indonesia and believes that architects should consider to build wooden or bamboo buildings. in 2008, he received an award from the Ministry of Public Works, Indonesia and secured first prize for his excellent construction work. He earned his doctoral degree from University of Stuttgart, Germany.
Ir. Ikaputra, M.Eng, Ph.D
Ikaputra is a lecturer and researcher at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) Yogyakarta. In 1985, he began studying architecture at Universitas Gadjah Mada and eventually earned his M.Eng and Ph.D at Osaka University, Japan. He specializes in City planning and Environmental, heritage, and building for disaster and has written an array of noteworthy publications. One of his most famous work is he helped rebuilt Kasongan Village.
Ir. Ahmad Saifudin Mutaqi, M.T., IAI
Ahmad Saifudin Mutaqi is Associated Professor and Head of Professional Program of Architecture FCEP UII. he began studying architecture at Universitas Gadjah Mada on 1987 for Bachelor Degree and 1994 for Master Degree. And now he is President of Ikatan Arsitek Indonesia (Indonesian Architect Association) 2016-2019. Here are two of five papers, that were published in 5 years, Harmony in Contrast. Proceeding of Seminar and Workshop “Towards International Accreditation of Schools of Architecture in Indonesia” 2011 and Development of Housing Settlement: Basic Resource Development Strategy for Housing. Proceeding of The Second International Conference on Sustainable Built Environment (ICSBE), in FTSP-UII 2012.
The Artists
Samuel Indratma
Samuel Indratma is a community visual artist and muralist, who studied graphic art between 1990 and 1996 at the faculty of Fine Art, Indonesian Institute of the Arts, Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
He was a prominent member of the left wing, activist group of artists, Apotik Komik, operating between 1997 and 2005, creating public art in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The group considered their public art as a tool of social communication. Indratma also co-founded the Jogjakarta Mural Forum, which formed in 2005.
Dr. Suwarno Wisetrotomo
Suwarno Wisetrotomo is a lecturer at the Indonesian Institute of Arts, Yogyakarta and also a renowned curator. His publications varied from art critiques, contemporary art in Indonesia, to batik. Since Suwarno has an acute sense of art, he is trusted by many art organization to be a curator on art events since 1991. He is also an editor-in-chief in ‘Jurnal Seni Rupa and Design’ (A journal which focuses in art and design) since 2005.
Dr. Sindung Tjahyadi, M.Hum
Sindung Tjahyadi is a lecturer at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) at the faculty of philosophy. He is an admirer of wayang (an Indonesian traditional shadow puppet) and also observes Javanese culture.
Alit Ayu Dewantari (Pop Up V)
Alit Ayu Dewantari has always been interested in drawing since she was young. She started to explore and hone her art skills at Indonesian Institute of Arts, Yogyakarta in 2008. She also won many awards in painting between 1999 and 2006. Since 2012, she has organized many art workshop and studies about pop-up art.

Sony Prasetyotomo and X Widyatmoko (Tindes Art)
Sony Prasetyotomo and X Widyatmoko are famous for their Tindes Art. Tindes Art uses a technique called “nindes” which means that the artists has to press his drawing tools hard (usually a pencil) on a drawing media (usually a cardboard) to make an outline of a picture which eventually serves as a cast. Then the artist would pour paint on the cardboard and uses it as a stamp. Usually, they stamp it on another drawing media (ranging from papers to clothes).
